What We Collect

The Scoop is a photography education content platform. We collect minimal data to operate the site and measure content performance.

Click Tracking

When you click an outbound link on our site, we record the click for analytics purposes. This includes your IP address, browser user agent, referring page, and a randomly generated session identifier. We do not associate this data with any personal identity. Click data is used to measure content engagement and report performance metrics to our contributors.

Cookies

We use cookies only for administrative authentication sessions. Public visitors do not receive any tracking cookies. Our admin session cookie (ts_auth) is used solely for authenticating the two site administrators.

Server Logs

Our hosting provider (Railway) may collect standard server access logs including IP addresses and request metadata. These are used for security monitoring and are retained per Railway's data retention policy.

What We Don't Collect

Contributor Data

Contributors who submit content provide their name, email, bio, and website URL. This information is displayed publicly on the site as part of their contributor profile. Contributors may request removal of their profile by contacting us.

Data Retention

Click tracking data is retained indefinitely for aggregate analytics. Individual click records older than 12 months may be purged. Content and contributor profiles are retained as long as the content is published.
